Privacy Policy

Football Confidence Pool ("the app", "we") is a free app for running pro football confidence pools with friends. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address and the display name you choose. Your password is handled by Firebase Authentication and is never visible to us.
- Pool activity: the pools you create or join, your team name in each pool, your picks and confidence rankings, and your scores.
- Usage data: which screens you view and actions you take in the app (for example, creating a pool or making a pick), collected with Firebase Analytics along with basic device information such as device model, operating system, and app version.
- Crash and diagnostic data: crash reports and error logs, collected with Firebase Crashlytics, so we can find and fix problems.
Usage and diagnostic data are tied to an internal account ID, not your name or email. We don't collect your location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifier.
How we use it
- To run the app: sign you in, run your pools, save your picks, and calculate scores and standings.
- To understand how the app is used and improve it.
- To find and fix crashes and bugs.
We don't sell your information, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Who can see your information
- Members of your pools can see your team name, your scores and standings, and your picks once that week's picks have locked. They can't see your email address.
- Pool owners can control who can join and share their pool's invite code.
Service providers
The app is built on Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Analytics, and Crashlytics), which stores and processes the information above on our behalf under Google's terms. Game schedules and scores (ESPN), betting lines (The Odds API), and weather forecasts (Open-Meteo) are fetched by our servers; no personal information is sent to those services.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your account and pool information while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in the app: open your profile, then choose Delete account. This permanently removes your account, your profile, and your team and picks in every pool. Pools you own are handed to another member you choose or deleted. Analytics and crash data are kept for a limited time under Firebase's retention settings and aren't linked to your deleted account.
You can also email us to ask for a copy of your information or to have it deleted.
Children
The app isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and post the new version on this page.
